After setting the stage ablaze at the Stereosonic Festival 2009, dance scene’s ‘James Dean‘ Drop the Lime (DTL) is back to tour Australia in July!

Drop the Lime (Luca Venezia) is a universally esteemed electro DJ/producer, hailing from New York City, where he runs the Trouble and Bass club night and a dance label of the same name.

Drop the Lime started off experimenting in the underground electro scene with Kid 606’s TigerBeat6 label, Mad Decent and has also appeared on French label Institubes under the pseudonym Curses!. But it was in 2008 when he did a remix for Pop darling Robyn that put flashing lights to his name. Overwhelmed by Luca’s sweet sounds, she took him on tour and gave DTL a platform to showcase his wares to the world. The notorious London club Fabric instantly snapped him up and offered him a residency in their Main Room alongside other elite DJs such as Andy C, Filthy Dukes and Grooverider.

Since then, Drop the Lime performed a massive set at Coachella, headlined tours in North America and Australia, and appeared at festivals in the UK such as Lovebox, Creamfields and V Festival. In between he has done remixes for Moby, Blaqstarr, Rex the Dog, Armand Van Helden and Midnight Juggernauts, and co-wrote songs with Diplo and Herve.

Drop the Lime’s newer material and DJ sets feature his live vocals on original compositions. Luca says “With every album I’ve made I’ve moved closer and closer towards creating songs rather than “tracks”… this time around, I am making music that moves people emotionally in their own place and physically out dancing in the clubs. A song like ‘Hear Me’, brings together all my influences - rock, electro, old school rave, jungle… and my gospel soul singing background!”.

DTL’s new track DEVILS EYES was originally released exclusively through *Bacardi B-Live*, *Devil’s Eyes* was only leaked to a few select spots on the internet, now the original and full remix package are finally getting a proper release. Its time has come.

The likes of MSTRKRFT, DJ Mehdi, Diplo, Sinden, ATrak and our own Acid Jacks can’t stop raving about him, and you will too… once you’ve experience Drop the Lime.
