Jimi Frew - Depth

MUTS030_AW Sydney sonic assault master Jimi Frew (or fRew as he used to be known) debuts his first release “Depth” on John Dahlbacks Mutants Records and Onelove for Australia & New Zealand. The track’s title is cleverly inspired by the voice you hear in elevators that tells you whether you’re going up or (as is the case here) going down. It’s a wicked musical descent into the dark delights of electro dance that incorporates Moroderesque beats, twisted mid-line stabs and insane drum-rolls before it drops into an anthemic riff and breakdown that has more drama than combined episodes of ‘Neighbours’ and ‘Home and Away’. “Depth” is a guaranteed bullseye for any sun-drenched field or peak-time moment.

“Everything may seem bright and clean down here in Oz,” says Jimi, “But we know how to role up our sleeves and get down and dirty with the best of them. That’s what ‘Depth’ is all about!
