Slumberjack - Open Fire ft. Daniel Johns

With divergent cultural influences and a unique blend of energetic beats and rhythmic foundations, Slumberjack return with the genre-defining new single Open Fire (feat. Daniel Johns).A disparate blend of sounds and tempos, the ever shifting and radical Open Fire (feat Daniel Johns) lives inside an ethereal realm of enlightened dance and feel-good energy, overflowing with the trademark creativity, liveliness, and adventurous production that have made Slumberjack one of Australia’s most talked about new electronic artists.

Ahead of forthcoming appearances at Lollapalooza and Splendour In The Grass 2016, and following the ground- breaking ‘Enigma feat. GRRL PAL,’ (3 million streams and counting) and #1 on Hype Machine Horus, Open Fire finds iconic Australian singer/songwriter Daniel Johns lend his signature dynamic vocal style to create a combination of world-class artists and sets the tone for the Perth duo’s forthcoming EP (scheduled for the second half of 2016.)

About SLUMBERJACK: Bass-heavy and bombastic, frenetic yet lush, the music of SLUMBERJACK is born from its Perth-based creators’ passion for contrast. Made up of DJ/producers Morgan Then (a 23- year- old Borneo-bred concert pianist and former world-music artist) and Fletcher Ehlers (a 21-year-old Australia native who taught himself to make electronic music at age 11), the duo dig into their disparate backgrounds and push into thrillingly original sonic territory. On their debut EP Slumberjack (Onelove), that dynamic reveals itself in lead single ‘Body Cry’ (a melody-driven EDM-meets-RNB fusion that attracted the attention of Skrillex and Diplo) and its follow-up ‘Horus’ (a heavy-hitting and hypnotic Eastern-flavoured track that features as the soundtrack to the current global Tom Ford campaign). With the EP hitting #2 on the iTunes electronic chart soon after its November 2014 release, Slumberjack continue to emerge as one of Australia’s most daring and creative acts in electronic music today.
